Social

Social networks are a great tool for companies of all sizes to interact with their existing and potential customer base.  There are many social networking sites available but the three key sites that we tend to focus our efforts on are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Each of the sites has their own benefits but from the point of view of marketing, they all carry weight in promoting your website and your business. The best way to use a social network is to give relevant content to your followers and establish yourself as the expert.  Whilst doing this you will be able to promote products and services in a way that is less intrusive.

Backlinks still play a major role in promoting your site on the Internet and getting backlinks from Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn (as well as the many other social networks) is very important.  A few companies have performed an intensive analysis into how Twitter “retweets” benefits a web page in getting promoted within Google.  The results showed a positive correlation between the number of “retweets” and the position a page is displayed within the Search Engine Results Page.

Using Twitter updates, you can easily and effectively manage a “Latest News” section of your website.  If you have multiple teams such as Technical, Sales and Corporate, they can all have their own feed and this is a great way to update the people in your network but also potential new connections that visit your site.

There are many packages available that will help either individuals or teams to manage a company’s presence on social networks some of which are free and others that only cost a few pounds per month. We are happy to discuss these with you and talk about how to start promoting your company on the web.
